General Questions
- Do you have a particular style of photography?
- We are predominantly photojournalists. We absolutely love taking candid photographs throughout the day and letting your wedding happen without us interfering. We know we’ve done a great job when you look through your photos and say, “Wow!!! We didn’t even notice you were there.”
- We know parents, especially, like to have group/family photos. These are done as briskly and creatively as possible so you can have more time to party with friends and family, but will enjoy our unique compositions for years to come.
- Do you shoot using film or digital?
- All of our photographers shoot with digital SLR cameras, ranging from 6 - 12 Megapixels.
- Why should we choose Rabbat Photography instead of another company?
- We let your day happen without interfering. We have also been in business since 2001 and we offer beautiful flush mount albums.
- How do we book with Rabbat Photography?
- To secure us for your wedding day, we will need a $750 cheque, cash, or Paypal non-refundable retainer along with a signed contract.
Our Services
- Can we get some of our photos in Black & White and Sepia?
- Most definitely! Since all of our photographers shoot digital, photos can be easily be converted to black & white, sepia, or colour. We also further enhance your photos with creative and special effects as part of your wedding package if you would like. You will still obtain the digital negatives of all the originals.
- What kind of albums do you offer?
- Very modern, flush mount style albums. A description cannot do them justice, so please come into our studio and have a look!
- Should I do my own printing or should I get Rabbat Photography to do my printing?
- If you know all about printing, colour correction, and know that you will actually take the time to get your prints done, you would be better off doing your own printing.
- However, if you would like professional quality and an assurance that your prints will be done within four weeks, let Rabbat Photography handle your prints. You can be certain that all of your photos will be individually monitored and sent to a professional lab, which means they are much higher quality and will therefore last much longer than if you took them to a consumer lab. We suggest a matte finish, but you can request glossy, watercolour or metallic prints.
Quick Turaround Time
- How long does it take to get my wedding photos?
- We offer one of the quickest turnaround times in the industry. A CD or DVD of all the digital negatives, as well as an online photo album are available within four weeks after the wedding date. After you have selected your prints and albums, it will take approximately four weeks to receive the rest of your package.
- So, we will receive the online album in a maximum of four weeks and the photos within four weeks of ordering them. Isn't that deadline a little tight?
- We are so confident that we can meet it, that if we do not, you will receive $100 in extra prints, etc. if the website is late and another $100 towards even more prints, etc. if your website and photos are not ready within that amount of time.
Weddings outside of GTA
- Do you shoot outside of Toronto?
- Of course! We also do destination weddings. Please contact us for a custom quote.
- What if our wedding is just 2 hours away from Toronto?
- There will be a .40 charge per kilometre 45 KM or more outside of the High Park area.
A Typical Day
- What is a typical day like?
- It depends on the type of wedding you have, of course, but generally, we begin with the bride getting ready. At the bride's house, we will take photographs of her getting ready, people milling around, and if she wants them, portraits of her with those around her. Following that, if there is time, or simultaneously if there are two photographers, we head to where the groom is getting ready and do the same.
- We then head to the ceremony preferably before the bride and groom so we can photograph the set-up, the guests arriving, and, the arrival of the bridal party.
- At the ceremony, we photograph the bridal party walking down the aisle, the groom, the guests, followed by the exchanging of the rings, the vows, the kiss, the signing of the register and anything else that may happen.
- Following that, the couple may choose to greet guests afterwards, in which case we will photograph that, or they may then head straight to their location of choice for 'official portraits.' We try to make these sessions as relaxed as possible as well as artistic, by staggering the poses and having people talk candidly while in these positions. We generally try to avoid anything cheesy except by special request.
- After that, it is time for everyone to let go! You probably will not even notice us as we take photos of the set-up of the reception area, the guests at the reception area, the speeches, the cake cutting, the dance, the garter toss, the bouquet toss and anything else that happens at your wedding.
- For Hindu/Sikh weddings, there are some variances, as we will photograph the groom arriving on a horse (if he does that), the wedding guests awaiting the arrival at the temple entrance, people stealing the groom's shoes, candids throughout the ceremony, family portraits after the ceremony (if requested), the bride and groom leaving the temple, wedding games, etc. For CHINESE weddings, we will photograph tea ceremonies, etc.
- Basically, we photograph ALL cultures and if there is anything you would like us to photograph, please let us know and we would be happy to do so!
