Surprise 70th birthday at The Old Mill | Etobicoke event photographers
Friday, August 8, 2014Suzanne and I started talking at an Etobicoke Mompreneurs event. She runs a fantastic cleaning company called Bubbles and Squeak (if you found out about them on here, please let them know!). We got talking and just a couple of weeks later, I was photographing the following event.
Suzanne and her sister, Jen organized a surprise birthday for their mom Janus’ 70th. As you can see from the photos, she was extremely surprised! The event took place at The Old Mill Inn and Spa.
Jen’s family came all the way from Sackville, New Brunswick to surprise her.
This was Janus’ reaction to seeing them.
I love how this boy was peeking through the window to watch us do the family portraits.
Suzanne’s family likes to have fun. Jen’s family was pretty thrilled to be able to surprise her mom.
Jack did one of the best photo bombs ever!
This gorgeous and delicious cake was designed by I Need a Cake – by Lina.
Congrats on being able to keep up the surprise and on throwing such a perfect event!
Alex and Victoria | Toronto Headshot Photographer
Tuesday, July 29, 2014Alex and Victoria’s mom, Tracey did her headshots with me in the winter, so I was thrilled to meet her kids when they came in for theirs.
Newborn Mackenzie | Toronto Newborn and Family Photographer
Wednesday, July 23, 2014Mackenzie’s parents saw photos I had taken of other newborns on the wall at Midwife Alliance , which is the same clinic I went to when I was pregnant with my little ones. Her mom’s name is also Danielle and we even sign off on our emails the same way (-Danielle)! We later found out that we also have friends in common!
Mackenzie was wide awake (and mostly nursing) for the first three hours of our session, but she finally fell asleep!
There seems to be a resemblance between Mackenzie and her daddy, don’t you think?
The feet in this picture are bigger than they were in real life….
Congrats again on your new baby, Danielle and Drew!
Joanne and Stan Wedding Photography | Etobicoke Old Mill Wedding Photography | Etobicoke Wedding Photographers
Tuesday, July 22, 2014Joanne and Stan came to meet with me last year and I knew for certain that I would get along well with them when we ran into each other at a Toronto Furies hockey game! The Furies are our professional women’s hockey team, which some of our Olympians play on. They also won the Clarkson Cup (the women’s equivalent of the Stanley Cup).
Besides their love for hockey, it was obvious at my first meeting with them that they also have a love for life. Every time I met with them, we were smiling and laughing.
Joanne was super, duper excited to have finally found love and Stan was equally excited to be marrying her.
Joanne’s friend helped her sew her dress before the ceremony. Thank goodness she was on hand, since Joanne’s dress was a little too big and that friend is a coutourier. It fit perfectly again when she was done sewing!
I know the bride looking out the window photo has become a little cliche, but Joanne said she really does love looking out the window…plus this was the best way to show off the back of her bridal gown!
They smiled and looked at each other lovingly throughout the entire ceremony.
The first kiss happened before it was time for the ‘official first kiss,’ and Stan made it last a long time. Take note brides and grooms, if you want a first kiss photo it is a good idea to hold it and kiss for as long as possible!
The bridal party in front of the water fountain.
Joanne and her Matron of Honour and cousin.
I love Stan’s positioning in the photo below. I want to call it the ‘classic Stan’ pose.
Just outside the Old Mill right before the reception.
The room was beautifully decorated.
First dance as a married couple!
Joanne and her friends having a blast dancing throughout the reception.
Congrats again, Stan and Joanne! Thanks so much for letting me share and capture the joy of your wedding day. It was truly an honour.

Friday, June 13, 2014Meet baby Benjamin!
I had the pleasure of meeting Benjamin when he was under a week old. I went to his home for this photo session.
I think he really enjoyed being in some of the props, especially the wool cocoon as you can see from his smile.
Here he is with his sister, Lexie. I always love when the older sibling acts like the younger one is their own little doll to play with, kiss and cuddle.
Congrats on your newest family member!
Vanessa and Colin’s Wedding | King Valley Golf Club | Toronto Wedding Photographer
Monday, May 12, 2014Vanessa and Colin’s wonderfully emotional wedding day started out at Vanessa’s parents house in Stouffville, where he got ready at one end of the house and she got ready at the other.
Their ceremony took place at Our Lady of Grace in Aurora and their reception happened at King Valley Golf Club in King City.
The bridesmaids are admiring Vanessa.
The groomsmen laughed a lot before they departed for the ceremony.
The flower girl and ring bearer are enjoying their roles.
They smiled at each other throughout the ceremony.
We were able to take pictures the golf course since there were not any golfers.
This photo took place on the golf course of King Valley Golf Club.
King Valley golf club is such a perfect place for wedding photos!
Colin gave a highly emotional speech. The football shaped cake is in front of him, because at the end of her speech, Vanessa said, “I’ve decided to incorporate something just for you into this day,” to which Colin replied, “Where are the footballs?” and the staff brought out that very cake (which of course Vanessa had ordered in advance)!
Father daughter dance.
Mother son dance.
Colin and his best man have the most hilarious bromance. They cut the football shaped cake together. This year is not just Colin’s wedding year, Andrew and Colin are also celebrating their silver friendship anniversary.
Colin took out his guitar and sang a beautiful song, which he wrote for Vanessa.
The song brought Vanessa (and most of the guests) to tears.
I adore the way Colin looks at her, which always make her smile right back at him.
Congrats again on such a perfect wedding day, Vanessa and Colin! Thanks so much for having me there!
Engagement Photos in Unionville including an award winning photo! Toronto Wedding Photographers
Wednesday, April 9, 2014I asked Vanessa and Colin what they enjoyed doing together so we could incorporate their hobbies into their engagement photo session. Colin plays guitar and he also coaches a hockey team. Vanessa loves listening to Colin and she was game to go skating with him as well.
I submitted the photo you see below to the PPOC (Central Portrait Branch)’s monthly competition and it won a merit award! I think it nicely sums up how Colin feels about playing for Vanessa and how Vanessa feels about listening to him play.
We drove to the Markham Civic Centre’s skating rink for a few photos. It was extremely cold, so we didn’t last too long.
The Starbucks in Unionville has awesome window light!
We risked it and took a few photos on the train tracks. No trains came.
Vanessa brought the flowers to the session to add a pop of colour to the photos.
Congrats again on your engagement! I’m looking forward to photographing your wedding at King Valley Golf Club in a few weeks!
Lise | Etobicoke Headshot Photographer | Studio Headshots
Friday, March 28, 2014I really love photographing headshots in the studio, so I was thrilled when Lise contacted me because she needed a nice photo for the conferences she will be presenting at soon. She also wanted a professional headshot for LinkedIn.
Professional photos are definitely one of the fastest ways for people to stand out on LinkedIn (and in general)! If you invest in yourself, people will be more likely to want to invest in you.
Throwback Thursday | Emotional Wedding Photography | Toronto Wedding Photographers
Thursday, March 27, 2014Here’s an emotional wedding photo from a wedding I photographed in Niagara on the Lake nearly a decade ago. I love when the bride and/or groom cries tears of joy.
