Sophie and Michael’s Downtown Toronto Engagement Photos
Wednesday, May 22, 2013Mike and I are second cousins, but we had only met two or three times so far, as he grew up in Chicago while I grew up in the GTA.
I was pretty thrilled when he asked me if I would be available to photograph his wedding in Ile d’Orleans (just outside Quebec city) this summer. It would be Rabbat Photography’s first Rabbat wedding and more importantly, we would get to know each other better.
Sophie and Michael are now living in Montreal, so they came to Toronto recently for the engagement session. My husband assisted, so it was kind of like a double date too. When I asked them what they liked to do together, they said “When we’re in Toronto we like going to the St. Lawrence Market. We also like eating and we met each other doing yoga.” We incorporated all of their loves into their engagement session, which we all later referred to as a ‘gastronomical tour of Toronto’. We all had a blast and I am so happy that I get to photograph their wedding and have them in my family!
Here they are getting peameal bacon buns at the St. Lawrence Market. Sophie got them every week as a child.
Laughing between bites.
They were so sweet they actually got those flowers for me for Mother’s Day (which was the day after this shoot)! The last time I saw Mike was on my very first mother’s day.
We headed to the beaches but made a stop at Ed’s Real Scoop along the way. You have to try their burnt marshmallow. They also have gelato.
Yoga on the beach!
We headed to Chinatown for dinner, but stopped in the Chinatown/Kensington area for some photos first.
Sophie and her mom used to regularly shop at Courage My Love and when Vu and I suggested Lee Garden for dinner Sophie would not listen to any other options, because just like me, she grew up going there and eating their amazing dishes (like chicken in a taro nest with mango and filet mignon and avocado). Yum!!!
Thanks so much for an amazing day!!! I can’t wait for your wedding!
Melanie and Warren’s Wedding | Glen Erin Inn Mississauga | Etobicoke Wedding Photographer
Wednesday, February 6, 2013Melanie and Warren stumbled upon my site by googling Etobicoke wedding photographer, since they wanted to find somebody local. I am so glad they found me! Their ceremony was held at the Glenerin Inn in Mississauga.
They were both very relaxed and having a good time before the ceremony.
The officiant was very funny. Many people said he could have had a second career as a comedian. I think he could have been the host of the radio host Lovers and Other Strangers.
It was raining, so we did all of the outdoor photos under the awning.
I think she enjoyed feeding him cake just as much as he enjoyed eating it!
I love this photo, because Warren is a very quiet guy, but he definitely had no problems showing his sense of humour through actions like this on his wedding day.
She did most of the talking during the speech.
Congrats again, Melanie and Warren! Thanks again for including me in your special day!
Melissa and Corbin’s Wedding | Winter Wedding Photography at the Ancaster Old Mill | Etobicoke Wedding Photographers
Tuesday, January 29, 2013I had the pleasure of photographing Melissa and Corbin’s wedding at The Ancaster Old Mill on Saturday! It was a perfect winter day, albeit a bit chilly and they were hoping for an actual snowfall, but it wasn’t so cold that we had to avoid outdoor photos!
Corbin and his son Aiden before the ceremony. Corbin got ready at Staybridge Suites.
Aiden was pretty calm for the first few minutes of the ceremony.
Aiden started getting restless, so he put his stuffed panda on top of mom and dad’s arms. It was very cute!
Mel and Corbin had Taiko drummers perform during the cocktail hour!
We headed outside for photos in front of the waterfall.
I was very glad I had Dave Chang-Sang of Memento PhotoWorks along with me to help me get photos like the ones you see below! He also took awesome photos!
Even in the winter the dining hall at the Ancaster Old Mill looks very elegant.
Mmm….cake. There’s nothing like a wedding to break up the winter!
Congrats again, Mel and Corbin! Thanks for having us be a part of your wedding day. I can’t wait to hear about your honeymoon in Thailand!
Mel and Corbin’s engagement photos | Downtown Toronto Engagement Photography
Tuesday, January 29, 2013Mel and Corbin got married on Saturday, which means I can finally share the photos from their guestbook album, since their guests have now seen it and signed it!
We took these engagement photos all over downtown Toronto.
Clowning around
Tuesday, January 22, 2013I love it when an unusual gig comes my way, so when I was asked if I would take clown photos of Fleur, the therapeutic clown, I was happy to oblige! It was very entertaining watching her interact with the children, who definitely thought she was one of them and did not want to stop playing with her when our time was up.
Lee’s Palace featuring Graydon James and the Young Novelists | Fires of | Wool and Howl
Monday, January 7, 2013Sometimes you luck out and one of your favourite bands happens to also be one of your friend’s favourite bands and they decide to celebrate their birthday by inviting everyone out to a show. That’s what happened this year, when our friend Phil celebrated his birthday! Of course, Phil did meet my friend Shawn at one of MY birthday parties many years ago and that was how he found out about this band. I brought my camera.
All three bands that evening were fantastic!
Here is the first opening band The Fires Of…

Graydon James and the Young Novelists
They called out that it was Phil’s birthday, so he proudly went to the front of the stage, where he could enjoy two of his favourite things (beer and live music in case you were wondering!).
Happy birthday, Phil! Thanks for inviting us to celebrate with you!
Chris and Katie’s Wedding | Old Mill Etobicoke Wedding Photographer
Sunday, January 6, 2013Happy New Year!!!
One of my resolutions is to start catching up on my blog. What are your resolutions (if any)?
I’m starting off with Chris and Katie’s wedding.
I met Chris at Whiteoaks Tennis Club when I was just 14 years old. You can imagine how thrilled I was to find out that he was engaged! I was even more thrilled to be the chosen photographer for his wedding.
Conveniently, Chris and Katie got married at The Old Mill, which I love not only for the proximity to my house (under 3KM away!) but also for the retro high class atmosphere.
Chris and his best man making each other laugh before the ceremony.
I love how happy couples look when they walk up the aisle together. I love how happy all the guests look too.
A few moments alone just after the ceremony, before the guests come to congratulate them.

We spent a beautiful week in Quebec City, staying at the Chateau Frontenac.

Friday, December 14, 2012Hello readers!
Sorry I have been MIA for so long. It has been extremely busy lately, so I’ve put the blog on the back burner.
I received a merit from the Toronto branch of the Professional Photographers of Ontario for this engagement photo I took in the summer.I hope you are doing well!
Jessica and Marc’s Wedding | Notre-Dame Cathedral and Rideau Tennis Club | Toronto Wedding Photographer (in Ottawa)!
Sunday, November 4, 2012Jessica and Marc got married at the beautiful Notre-Dame Cathedral in Ottawa and their reception took place at the Rideau Tennis Club. Their wedding was extra special for my family, since Jessica is my husband’s cousin and our daughter Julia was the flower girl!

The following is Jessica’s favourite photo that we took.
My daughter, Julia is in the next photos. I think she had a great time being the flower girl!
What’s your favourite wedding day memory?
It’s hard to pick just one but the most emotional and favourite wedding memory was my brother’s speech. I never expected that he would bring up such beautiful childhood memories. He blew me away and brought me to tears.
Marc’s dad gave a speech in which he called upon the two most beautiful women in the room. Everyone got worried when he was not looking at his wife. Everyone was relieved when he called up the grandmas and made them feel extra special.
First dance. Note the Filipino shirt on mark. Jessica’s mom’s family is Filipino and Marc’s parents have been living in the Phillipines.
Where did you go on your honeymoon?
We took a cruise Miami to the Bahamas and Turks Caicos.
What are you most looking forward to? We are most looking forward to upgrading our home and starting a family.
Cake: Sentiment Wedding Cakes

Congrats again on your wedding, Jessica and Marc! Thanks for having us be a part of your special day and for giving Julia her first flower girl experience.
