Halloween 2010!
Wednesday, November 3, 2010Here are a few photos of my daughter, Julia on Halloween.
She enjoyed trick-or-treating, but was very scared of the people wearing “Mask-es-e” as she likes to say. She kept telling us she didn’t want to see any more of them.
The bumblebee costume did not stop her from riding her trike! In the photo on the right, she is ‘taking off her helmet’…she kind of reminds me of a Nascar driver in that one.
I accidentally knocked over one of these pumpkin lights, so of course, she insisted on putting it back.
Hanging with grandpa before the big night out.
Practicing trick-or-treating (on left) and actually trick-or-treating (on right). She was a little bit apprehensive as that was our second house.
Happy girl now that she knows what Halloween is all about! Oh…this was also just after I gave her a spoonful of honey, since I told her that if she was a bumblebee that’s what she should eat.
Hope you had a great Halloween!
Bernadette and Geoff | October 23, 2010 | Academy of Spherical Arts | Toronto Wedding Photographer
Wednesday, October 27, 2010You may remember this awesome happy couple from their engagement shoot, which was just a few weeks ago. If you think they couldn’t stop smiling at their engagement session, you should have seen them at their wedding reception!
They did something a little unconventional and got married on a different day at City Hall, and had us for the reception only at the super artsy billiards club (which I overheard had the 3rd greatest selection of liquors in Toronto 2 years ago and possibly to this day), The Academy of Spherical Arts. That place is great for photos and has tonnes of character! It’s a good thing too, because it was pouring rain outside, so we did all the photos indoors.
Here are Geoff and Bernadette.
Anytime he got anywhere close to her, she had a big smile.
Shooting pool photo (inspired by Edward Hopper‘s artwork).
They took some dance classes together!
Bernadette is pretty happy to have snagged one of Malaysia’s top 50 bachelor’s. Yes, that is Geoff on the right hand side of the page. He taught English in Malaysia and one of his students submitted his info to the magazine.
Speak no evil, hear no evil, see no evil. Three brothers. Don’t they look alike? The brother on the left came all the way from South Africa for the wedding!
Cheers! Geoff and Bern made sure they made it around to every table.
The speeches were a big hit.
Bernadette’s family is Filipino, so they incorporated a traditional Filipino money dance.
Of course, there was a reception dance as well and the guests really got down and on the dance floor!
Special thanks to Amelia Thornton from Flirt Photography for second shooting with me.
Congrats again, Bern and Geoff!!!!
Rob and Kim's Wedding | Capones Catering | October 16, 2010 | Ottawa wedding photographer
Friday, October 22, 2010Rob and Kim’s wedding was an extra special one, because Rob was my husband’s best man 5 years ago and we have been looking forward to the day where Rob would get married and Vu could return the favour ever since our own wedding! It was also fun to photograph a wedding where my husband was in the wedding party.
We are happy that Rob found a lovely bride who also lives a lot closer to us, as he will now be moving!
The weather was about as perfect as it gets in Ottawa in mid-October. Sunny and warm enough to take photos outdoors without suffering TOO badly.
Rob and Kim got married at the Bethel Pentecostal Church . We then headed to the Central Experimental Farm/Arboretum. Interestingly enough, the last time we photographed an Ottawa wedding we went there for photos as well! The reception took place at Capones Catering in the Nepean Sportsplex, which is where Rob proposed.
Can you guess what hockey team Rob cheers for?
The girls are all laughing, because there was a freakout moment, where the ringbearer’s daddy came into the room exclaiming that his pants were too small. Fortunately, he’d been in such a rush that he’d put the 6 months old’s pants on the 2 year old. Phew!!
Kim’s daughter, Tristan is really happy that Rob is now part of the family.
One of my favourite moments from the wedding was when Kim’s sister (and Maid of Honour) told us about how she’d asked Kim’s 6 year old daughter Tristan (on the right of the photo), if she wanted to get married. She was very surprised when Tristan answered “No,” but then Tristan continued, “I wanted to marry Rob, but mommy is already marrying him.” Tristan and her friend squealed with laughter as that stroy was repeated!

Bernadette and Geoff | High Park Engagement Session | Toronto Wedding Photographer
Monday, October 4, 2010Bernadette and Geoff were so much fun and so easy to photograph, because he made her laugh so easily!!! Whenever Geoff looked into her eyes, he could not help but smile.
They chose to do their engagement shoot in High Park, since they had their first kiss at a Dream in High Park about 5 years ago. They also go for regular runs in the park and Geoff used to be involved with a camp there.
I can’t wait to photograph their wedding! This couple has the best expressions.
Baby A
Monday, October 4, 2010These images were taken at two separate times. In the first four photos, baby A was only 5 days old. In the last images, she was 11 days old…and waaaay more alert!
Stephanie and Mike's wedding | September 18, 2010 | King's Riding Golf Club | Aurora Wedding Photographer
Friday, September 24, 2010Stephanie and Mike could not stop smiling throughout their wedding day!! This did not come as much of a surprise when Mike’s (wonderful dry) sense of humour really came out during the speeches. Judging from the reactions to the speeches, he could have had a successful comedy career, if he hadn’t chosen to be a pilot. This was one very happy couple! We expected nothing less, considering they did their engagement session on one of the hottest days of the summer (quite possible THE hottest) and smiled throughout.
They had some really nice touches to their wedding, like a horse and buggy ride. They also made the kissing game their own, by having people launch paper airplanes into a hula hoop.
Thanks again for choosing us to document your wedding day!
Congratulations, Stephanie and Mike!!! We hope you are having an amazing honeymoon!
Thanks to Ryan Rowell, from Rowell Photography for shooting with Sarah.

Ashley and Steve's Wedding, September 12, 2010 | Inn on the Twenty| Niagara Wedding Photographer
Friday, September 17, 2010Ashley and Steve met in high school and started dating when Steve asked Ashley to the prom. That was 12 years ago. Thank goodness she said, “Yes!”
They got married at the historically beautiful Inn on the Twenty in picturesque Jordan, ON.
Ashley and Steve eagerly await the start of their big day. Ashley and Steve’s dog seems excited for them!
They saw each other before the ceremony. The first image is how they reacted upon first seeing each other and just seconds after that, they had a thumb war! The following images are all how they reacted in each other’s company.
The Rob Reed band really set the tone for the wedding day! They featured jazz standards like “It’s a a wonderful world,” (which Ashley walked down the aisle to!) and played througout the ceremony, cocktail hour and reception.
I love how Ashley’s mom is smiling so happily in the image on the left.
Sharing a laugh with Rev. Mandi Neiser, who conducted a fabulous ceremony complete with readings that she picked out just for them as well as the apache prayer.
Ashley’s grandpa is happy his granddaughter is now married!
Is it just me or do they look like they could be in Monet’s garden?
Ashley’s mom had the brilliant idea of putting two benches together for this image of both families.
The head table. Steve’s aunt Gitta painted each place setting.
Reacting to the speeches.
Mmm…cupcakes. These were made by thier multi-talented wedding planner, Rachel Mowat. There were chocolate cupcakes and carrot cupcakes. I had a carrot cupcake and I can honestly say it was the best carrot cake I’ve ever had! Moist and delicious.
These friends all leaned over one another, then as they came up, they bumped into each other. This images is a total candid and I promised I would blog it, because if you were there, you’d know how funny it was!
Congratulations, Ashley and Steve!

Tuesday, September 14, 2010She did it again! Janette placed in another ISPWP contest.
This time she placed with the following image from Jennifer and Jamie’s wedding.
Way to go, Janette!
